The Law brothers Jimi and Bill grew up playing and recording music with sound engineer brother John with a passion for excellence and a competitive spirit.  Brant joined and completed the foundation of the band.

There was a period where we all went in different directions, Bill went on to the UK to record three albums with two bands Dominion and My Dying Bride before moving back to Canada to join The Loving Dead. Jimi joined their west coast Canadian and US tour.

The band reunited to play a few gigs and decided to focus on writing and recording again.  After a very exhaustive search locally and online the band found Lead Singer Alex Nekrylau.

The Rule of Law project has been ongoing now for about three years, in that time the band has been recording songs with John at the engineering controls.

Rule of Law recently recorded one of their songs with Producer GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Hedley, Big Wreck, Chevelle) and now are building an online presence.   Songwriting and recording is an ongoing process.

With over 30 years of experience playing live and recording, we love music with all our hearts and minds, it is finally now time for the world to share in our musical journey.

Jimi’s obsession with guitar dates back to when he was ten years old playing along to Van Halen and Iron Maiden records.  Brother Bill would later take up drums and the Law brothers would form an unmistakable musical bond.

Main influences include Eddie Van Halen, Steve Vai, Yngie Malmsteen, John Petrucci, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson and Jimi Hendrix.

Jimi has been involved in many live and recording projects and recently recorded Rule of Law's newest single "Dirt" with celebrated Canadian music producer Garth "GGGarth" Richardson, where he brought his guitar playing to new heights.

Gear:  Custom Warmoth guitars, Ibanez acoustic, Mesa Boogie and Line 6 amplification, MXR, Dunlop, TC Electronics and Voodoo Lab

Bill started as a local musician playing in cover bands with his brother Jimi.  Bill eventually branched out and played with several bands touring throughout western Canada in the early 90s.

In 1996, Bill attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood California and met a bass player from northern England - where he later traveled.  Bill hooked up with British bands "Dominion" and "My Dying Bride" and went on to record three albums for Peaceville Records, an independent British label.

Bill eventually returned to Canada and again played alongside his brother Jimi.  Recently, Bill's haunting lyrics prove that his contribution to Rule of Law goes far beyond his drumming abilities.

Influences include the likes of Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), Geddy Lee (Rush), John Myung (Dream Theater), Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath) and melodic hard rock and metal (classic and modern; Iron Maiden, Dream Theater, Rush, Opeth, In Flames, Leprous, Baroness, Nightwish, Ghost, Muse, Thinn Lizzy, Journey etc...)

Brant has performed and recorded in various projects and is very excited to be working with Jimi, Bill, and Alex in Rule of Law.

Brant's equipment includes Dingwall 5 string Basses (including the NGII Signature), Ampeg Amplification, SansAmp and Mesa Boogie.

Hailing originally from Belarus, Alex Nekrylau is the newest member of Rule of Law and currently resides in Boston.

Alex’s influences include Myles Kennedy, Chester Bennington, Adam Gontier, Alice in Chains, Led Zeppelin, Silverchair, Motley Crue, Slash, Three Days Grace, Papa Roach, Nirvana, Theory of a Deadman, Korn, Depeche Mode, The Prodigy etc

Alex recently accompanied the band to Vancouver to collaborate with Garth Richardson on Rule of Law's debut album.   His impactful melodies and soaring vocals elevate ROL to incredible sonic heights!
